Caught You Looking

In August 2023, PRISM launched its annual recruitment campaign to Virginia Tech students. A faculty-led, student-run marketing agency that demands the best of the best, PRISM went for a modern, new look for the “Caught You Looking” campaign. The campaign brought in the highest amount of applicants PRISM has ever seen during a recruitment cycle with a 49% increase in applications, as well as 93,447 impressions on the social media feed.

Working on a team of designers, I served as a graphic designer creating the first ever brochure, flyers, social media posts, postcards, and many more. I also contributed to the strategic marketing campaign by planning promotional materials, coordinating event efforts, and bringing silly jokes.

Brochure Process


Through lots of trial and effort, we settled on a larger scale 5.5”x8” booklet and a trifold 8.5”x11” brochure. The booklet was in limited quantity, given as more of an informational booklet to professors and clubs, with the brochure being handed out to any Virginia Tech students.

The process firstly began with sketches and choosing a visual style. Following that, I created 4 different options (as seen on the left) for different layouts we could use. We did not yet know the exact size or what margins the printer needed, but wanted to get the content started so we would have adequate time to get it printed before our primary recruitment events.

Major considerations for print were what information needed to be on there, what would engage the audience to read versus the normal postcard of roles we send out, and how we wanted the priority audience to engage with this work.
